2. Program Summary

This program provides students with a broad-based general education foundation aligned with the U.S. higher education system. It is designed for learners who wish to begin their academic journey locally before progressing to year 3 and year 4 undergraduate studies in Singapore for bachelor degrees offered at ACE by the University at Albany. Through core modules in humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and communication, students will develop essential academic skills, critical thinking abilities, and interdisciplinary knowledge that prepare them for successful transition into Year 3 and Year 4 of University at Albany Bachelor of Arts (Major in Psychology) to be completed at ACE.
This degree has a 24 month candidature from the course end date stated on student contract.

3. Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • GCE A level, IB Diploma or other pre-university certifications, or
  • Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent, or
  • Other PEI diplomas (to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis), or
  • Completed 12 years education, or
  • Equivalent or above

Age Requirement:

  • Minimum age: 17

English Requirements:

  • Scored C6 or above in GCE O Level English or
  • TOEFL IBT 61 or IELTS 5.0 or
  • Internal English Proficiency test or
  • Its Equivalent

4. Total Course Duration / Instruction Hours

  • Full Time: 24 Months / 960 hours, 5 sessions per week x 3 hours

5. Mode of Delivery and Intake

  • Delivery: Blended delivery with a minimum of 70% face-to-face instruction and a maximum of 30% delivered in synchronous mode.

8. Graduation Requirement:

Most modules carry 3 credits each. Students are required to obtain a minimum of 60 credits from the current programme, attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale, and satisfy the entry requirements for the top-up degree offered by the University at Albany.
